Life’s journey has blessed me with many friends. And I’ve learnt that everybody goes through their highs and lows in life. Many of us have been deceived by the very person we love. Many whose spirit and motivation has been crushed by the very ones that we once helped. Discouragements that darts from people we look up to, may be even from parents to employers. And probably even accusations of all kinds, despite of our virtue.
And we tend to react differently in situations like these. The human we are, from the pain and the bitterness that spoils our sleep, we make hasty decisions to push them away from our life, also to the extent of planning their downfall and try to slander those who have hurt us.
What amazes me is that Jesus even being the Son of God has been there too.
What we don’t realize is that holding grudges against them and cursing them in your mind only leads us to more of bitterness and depression resulting in more of guilt and wickedness in our hearts.
But I have news for you my friends. Jesus has a way for you to deal with these kinds of situations. Jesus says, BLESS THOSE WHO PERSECUTE YOU! Can you imagine that, “BLESS & NOT CURSE!!” Wow! That means you need to love them unconditionally. Now you might wonder why? The truth is that Jesus died for them too. He cares for them too. And the only way they will know this truth of God’s love and care is through you!!! You are God’s instrument to communicate the love and compassion that was manifested through the cross of Calvary.
Is someone in your life difficult to love? Think about it this way. We are God’s children & we have His love in us & He commands us to love others. Refusing to do so is like saying, “God I don’t love you enough to love that person”. Because loving God means obeying his commandments too.
My friend, God enables us to love, as He loves-everyone, all the time UNCONDITIONALLY!!!
Never love someone because he/she has done a favor for you, but love them coz that’s what Jesus wants from you. If you find it difficult to love, ask the Holy Spirit our perfect counselor to give you the strength & grace to love them back. They might not see our heart or how much we do for them, but your heavenly father’s eyes are on you & He would be very pleased to see His child do this.
Let this be a decision of our life. Jesus was betrayed, accused, discouraged & even abused for the world He loved, but still He chose to die for us coz that’s how much He loves us.
