I am excited to share with you these simple thoughts that the Lord has impressed on my heart. God has been teaching me about how it is not about spending one hour strictly. It is about developing a life style of prayer. The greater the level of intimacy with God, the greater will be the level of God’s glory that God will release through your life.
We many a times tend to get lazy to wake up to pray even when we feel the gentle nudging of the Holy Spirit. There might be times of distraction, parties, calls etc but we must go on to pay a price to spend time at the feet of Jesus. The question we must ask is, am I willing to give God the priority.
In Luke 22:46 when Jesus saw the disciples sleeping, He asked them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”
The second part is more than just a statement, instead its a warning. Pray so that you will not fall into temptation. Many of us do not spend time praying and seeking His face instead waste our time with godless chatter, television, focus-less internet surfing etc.
Sometimes I find myself stranded or loosing focus in these areas too. Once as I was traveling to my office, I asked God to share His burden to me. Soon being burdened about certain things I began to weep deeply till I reached my office. I thought my heart would explode. And all God did was share a pinch of His burden. How I wish we could live a life style of walking in the knowledge of God’s heart.
There is power when you & I pray. When you sit in the presence of God you are connected with God, like being plugged into the power socket. Be continually charged by connecting with God through prayer.
Spend time in praying in the Spirit even when you are at your work. I just want to encourage you all my dear friends to always be connected into His presence by seeking God. He is worth our time. He doesn’t want anything else from you, but your heart. How can we say we love God & not spend time with Him- precious Jesus who died for us on that cross. Make this a daily habit. Ask the Holy Spirit to help u pray. The Holy Spirit will guide you in prayer as you pay a price with your time and energy.
I like to leave you with this question: Are you willing to seek God to know the heart of God? Are you ready to weep n intercede for your friends, family & your nation? Are you willing to pay a price and walk with God? Are you willing to take up the cross?
