How to Hear God’s Voice Especially When Making Important Decisions (Part 2/2)
In the first part of the series on how to hear God when making important decisions, I wrote about surrendering your desires to God and I also shared an incident from my life. If you haven’t read it already, CLICK HERE to read it. Here is the second and concluding part of the series.
TRUSTING GOD STEP BY STEP IS THE KEY
The Bible says in Psalm 37:23 (AMP), The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the LORD, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path].
So if the Lord is leading you to do something today, that’s step number one. When you obey Him in that step, He will lead you to the next.
Proverbs 16:9 says, A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
HOW DOES THE LORD DIRECT OUR STEPS?
When we trust in the Lord and are able to submit our plans and our heart’s desires to Him, then the Lord will begin to guide our steps.
“And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
I would also add, don’t rely on one ‘confirmation’ but ask God for multiple visions or dreams. And surely as you seek Him genuinely, He will direct you through visions or dreams.
Till then stay in the Word and keep waiting on the Lord. Remember, the Word of God is the greatest prophesy that you can receive and God will bring confirmation through his Word that you have been hearing or studying.
Also very important to be under submission to your pastors, leaders or spiritual mentors and seek guidance from them.
FUNCTION FROM A PLACE OF REST
Child of God, you got to function from a place of rest. Don’t make hasty decisions. You need to trust God and His process.
As long as you can are connected to His ‘now’ Word, as long as your heart is in the right place and you are secure in Him, be assured that the Holy Spirit will lead you. But the more you allow the world to infiltrate your heart and mind, it will bring confusion and disorder and that’s when you often end up making decisions that you later regret. So in this season, stay rooted and stay strong.
Even as you read this, I pray that the Spirit of God will fill you with wisdom and understanding to make the right decisions for your life.
