Fulfilling God’s Promises
I have been wanting to share something that has been on my heart for quite sometime.
I am sure many of us have been given a prophetic word. Sometimes, it is God Himself who has given us a promise from a word or through the Holy Spirit.
I definitely have received many a prophecies and promises from the time I came to know Jesus, like this one prophecy which said that I would “go to a Land of Snow” which I got before my marriage! I would get all excited for God’s plan and what He wanted me to do. But then, as I kept getting more word from the Lord, I somehow wanted to see it all manifest in my life. Slowly, it frustrated me, and I started to question all the prophecies and promises I received from the Lord.
I am sure many of you would have similar questions in your mind – When will the Lord’s prophecies come to pass? When will God’s glory manifest?
This is what the scripture says about God’s promises:
“Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.” Joshua 21:45
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. -Hebrews 10:23
God’s promises will always come to pass. It might get delayed because of our disobedience, but no matter what it will come to pass.
After I realized that God will keep His word, it would provide much relief to me no matter how much I had to wait. Yes I have not seen many things manifest in my life but I would not let that frustrate me. I would hold on to His word, and anyway, it is His problem so He will make it to pass.
The prophecy I got more than four years ago, which I had never even thought of seeing it happen, is now being fulfilled. My family and I are leaving for Canada today. I just want to encourage you with this incident from my life as this was one of those promises which got fulfilled even though it took a long time.
If today you are disappointed or frustrated about His promises not being fulfilled over your life, I want to encourage you to hold on to His word. Do not give up. He will make it come to pass in His time. And trust me, His timings are the best!
Continue being faithful till then.
2 Cor 7:1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
So for the time being it’s Goodbye India-for now and Hello Canada! Kindly continue to keep us in prayers as we go to a new land and new culture. Pray for GOd’s mercy and favour over us.
Thank you for your support. Hoping to write more often.
