When People Fight You
There was this one time that I had a certain misunderstanding with one of my relatives. I was very disturbed about the manner in which the person tried to pressurize me against my will. As usual I went to the Lord in tears. The Lord opened my eyes to His Scripture which immediately relieved my heart and helped me to see things through His eyes.
This familiar but wonderful scripture is from Ephesians 6:12, which says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
I noticed the devil is against God’s children living in love and unity. He continues to sow misunderstanding, confusions among believers trying to cause divisions.
Yes, I believe that there are times when God will allow certain people to walk out of your life. You cannot stop anyone from walking out of your life if they are not of you. (1 John 2: 19) And some others may have been brought by God into your life for a season.
However, it is important to intercede and fight for those that God has brought into your life. It can be your spouse, brother/sister, parents and children, church members, pastors, godly friends etc..
Be careful not to respond and react to the issue in the flesh. Bible reminds us to be aware of the schemes of the enemy. Don’t let hurts, offense and bitterness take over you. Guard your heart and remember that this is a war in the spirit.
The enemy can use anyone’s words, emotions and actions against you. Stay alert in the Spirit to overcome these attacks. God will fight for us if we learn to respond, react and deal in love, irrespective of how the other person responds.
The Bible clearly says that our battle is not against flesh & blood, that means that any dispute with anyone in the flesh is purely not from God. No matter how much you are hurt or spoken ill about, remember it is not them fighting you but the spiritual darkness that is waging the war against you. If there is anyone that you have reacted in the flesh, be sure to apologize to that person.
Our only battle is with satan and His agents.
Let every hurts and persecutions from humans be seen as trials allowed by God to enter into our blessings. If only we remember this, we then can have our hearts protected from bitterness, discontent and rejections.
I pray this post will help you to see every battle you face through God’s eyes and live free. Be strong & rejoice always.
